Shaper of Flames and Cloak of Flame

Does Shaper of Flames work the same way as Cloak of Flame converting physical damage to fire damage? PoB shows no difference at phys max hit when i have Shaper of Flames and when i don`t.

wrong
Yes, it's the same conversion.
However, Shaper of Flames has a condition. It requires that the enemy is ignited. Make sure you have checked that box in the configuration tab of PoB. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Scarletsword#4354 on Apr 10, 2026, 4:59:28 PM

"is the enemy is Ignited" is on.
Having or not having Shaper of Flames does not make a diffrence as Cloak of Flame does. |

I just had a 30min wild goose chase with this node and my first comment was wrong.
It is calculated differently than cloak of flames after all as the calculation fully happens on the enemy rather than the player. PoB doesn't show an increase for phys max hit because your character's durability against physical damage doesn't change at any point, meaning a change in phys max hit would be misleading as the game contains physical damage from environmental sources like labyrinth traps. The calcs tab will still show if the node applies or not on enemy damage. ![]() The more you know, I guess. |

" shaper of flames and cloak of flames are different conversions shaper of flames directly converts enemy damage, where cloak of flame is converting the damage you take. eg an enemy does 100 phys normally would bring it to doing 60 phys and 40 fire wearing cloak of flame as well(40%) would bring that 60 phys and 40 fire being dealt to 36 phys and 64 fire its a very important difference as getting an additional 20% phys taken as X would not result in 100% of phys being converted to something else with shaper of flames. |

" As described in my second answer you mean? Guess I'll edit my first answer for the people who can't read past one line. Last edited by Scarletsword#4354 on Apr 10, 2026, 4:59:13 PM
