Thrill of kill supportable skills incorrect?

The Thrill of the Kill support gem says that it supports skills like Entangle and Rolling Magma. But those skills don’t has culling strikes, so how does it support them?
I understand how the support gem Culling Strike can make attacks like Shred supportable by Thrill of the Kill, but even showing that as supportable seems like a stretch since it seems like it won’t do anything until you slap Culling Strike into it as well. You are not missing anything, you are correct.
You need a culling effect for that gem to work. You can use an ability which Culls innately, or add Cull to the Ability via various ways (support gem, Witchhunter tree, some items).
