Trial Of Chaos - Not worth doing.

So let me start with: i am probably one of the few maniacs that loves doing trial of chaos. I like the concept its imo relaxing and a good and relyable way in ssf to farm vaal and chaos orbs. However here is my issue with it:

-The corrupted rewards are... well shards at best

-A lot of the augments are utterly useless and the ones that are good rare as hell
I restarted on ssf not too long ago and i have done MANY trial of chaos since.
I got 1 attack speed augment, which is in my weapon now.

-Trial master drops 2 good items adorned and hateforge. I understand adorned to be crazy rare (about 1%) but i have killed him countless times in trade and ssf. i would say around 50 times idk. I have seen hateforge drop twice. I admit i was lucky on my first trial master kill in trade early season i got an adorned but that is a big exception.

-During the trial itself the mobs barely drop anything

Compared to sekhemas were you can farm keys to open chests and farm jewels, farm against the darkess and spectrum jewels, currency chests ect... on top if you play trade you can easily sell sekhemas making it even more profitable. Trial of chaos feels underwhelming as hell.

Even playing lower tier maps is more rewarding than trial of chaos.

Conclusion:
Overall i just wished trial of chaos would be more worth doing. I really enjoy that content however... I am losing my taste for it its frustrating cause doing 3 trials for 1 trial master takes me around 40-60 mins. In that time i can do several maps maybe farm a run or two of xesht or king of the mist ect.

The worst thing is pausing the game before each stage and the trialmaster's monologue. I understand this on the first playthrough, but I also ran it dozens of times and it was very tiring

Oh no, you're 5 seconds slower. They should also remove all the walking parts and port you right into the mobs.
Most of the socketables from ToC feels like just for sake of bloat.
Soul Cores that provides like +% to ailment buildup or +% to elemental penetration are GOOD but only on paper because you can grab those on Passive Tree a leave sockets for DAMAGE runes instead.
Soul Cores used to be relatively fine priced before we got it as a drop in Temple.
Well you're using an economic-pvp trade-centric perspective and measuring the value of game content with only a divs/hr yardstick and it's not always appropriate to do that.

Trial of Chaos is the last bastion of content that does not offer an economic competitive advantage to speedier glass cannon characters vs slower tanky characters.

That said, I do kind of agree with you that I think the trials are not really commensurately valuable with more accessible content even from a ssf perspective - where the intrinsic enjoyment of the content itself is usually a much larger factor in whether something feels "worth doing".

I only bothered with the Trialmaster a few times in 0.3 to see what it was about and that was enough for me. Personally, I'm hoping they do a trial-overhaul before release because I think they both kind of suck for reasons unrelated to their rewards. I get all the soul cores I need through the temple and I don't care about farming for uniques at all because planning builds around uniques you don't already have in ssf is a mistake lol.

Who am I to say anything, I don't respect my time either.
My build works fine without that unique. But i want to also reach new heights and i know that item would increase my dmg even further. Do i need it? no, i killed arbiter. would it be fun? yes. also uniques being nearly impossible to get to drop is no fun either.

sure i could craft for +2 melee triple dmg + attack speed gloves. wouldn't be the first time. but i also want to be able to extend my build to something more creative in ssf. Its the fun of games like these to explore builds beyond what ppl think possible and it would be cool to do that in ssf in a balanced not broken way. and just making temple more attractive loot wise would encourage more player to play it.

i mean lets be realy how many ppl actually play temple? almost no one. its a shame for all the time that was spent coding into the game if no one is touching it.
I personally love ToC, but I completely agree that a rework is needed. The main problem is that you need three keys to fight the Trailmaster. This wouldn't be a problem if you didn't also need to find three different inscribed ultimatums. And yes, the rewards suck.
P.S. I love the Trailmaster's monologues; it would be great if he reacted to the number of trials you've completed.
The weirdest thing I have ever seen in gaming.
Total trash idea, lumped together with XP loss, limited personal stash, limited teleports, critical kills, and trade restrictions.
