Can't load into the game s
|
Since today i cant load into the game anymore. Yesterday evening was playing just fine, but today I log in as usual, I select a character and then I'm just stuck on an infinite loading screen. I tried deleting the config file, I tried changing from directx to vulkan, I tried every gateway, I tried different characters in league/ssf/standard, I tried completely reinstalling the game, I even tried installing Windows on a second SSD and seeing if the problem caused by being on Linux. Nothing helped. I just sit in the loading screen with the cogs turning until I alt+F4 the game. The only difference was when trying on Windows, there I would get booted back to login screen with "unexpected disconnection has occurred" error after a couple minutes.

Update - using a VPN "solves" the issue.

https://pastebin.com/ZTbJEVcp This is the WinMTR results when VPN is off. I have no idea how to parse this, is this an ISP issue?

Got same problem today, solved with active VPN, any realm without VPN don't work, just stuck at loading screen and kick in menu. Hope GGG Fix this problem

Another update - changing my DNS to 1.1.1.1 let me load into town once, but T got booted back into loging screen when trying to enter my hideout and after that it won't load again. I've done a clean Windows install for easier troubleshooting and on WIndows instead of an infinite loading screen it throws me into login screen after a 20-30 seconds of loading instead of keeping me there infinitely. Would really appreciate some advice on if this is a PoE problem or if I should prepare myself for spending an hour arguing with my ISP.

" The log appears to rule out a true technical issue, suggesting that some kind of blocking may be in place which does not affect the echo requests utilised by WinMTR. That a VPN is an effective workaround would appear to corroborate this - there are no problems when the server has a different idea of which company the traffic is coming from. Unfortunately, GGG essentially hasn't offered Technical Support for a decade, so getting someone on their end to look into this requires some creativity. If you start making the ticket sound like a technical problem of any kind, it'll be shut down pronto with a canned reply. In particular - I would avoid mentioning Linux like the plague. If you reach out to them with your IP address (not the 192.168 private address from the MTR test), the name of your ISP, the country you're in, and the Path of Exile gateway(s) you have tried connecting to and ask whether GGG or their hosting provider might have certain anti-abuse blocks in place which you're being affected by, you might make some headway. Out of interest - have you tried connecting to a different gateway? Even if only one is convenient for you geographically and all others would offer unacceptable latency, knowing whether the issue affects all gateways or just one would be invaluable. Hm.
Yeah; it's probably a good shout to contact Support directly and ask if they could look into it for you with the information I recommended above. Hopefully it's just a case of them adjusting a firewall rule on their end. If trying that doesn't work, we could always try further troubleshooting. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

Well, support answered that they don't do email technical support and I should instead create a thread in the Technical Support forum ))) Guess I'll just keep playing with a VPN and hope the problem eventually goes away.
