what kind of stuff do you guys corrupt and why?

I'm curious. I just got here but apart from the chance of randomizing
a rare item im only aware of using it on skill gems.

probably maps.

do you corrupt stuff thats really good and you might use it as it is
but take the chance to make it better or maybe junk?

do you use it on high lvl items with bad rolls hoping for 1 chance at
good rolls or charsi food?

i've just been selling them. used a few and didnt get anything interesting.

Easiest target for corrupts are uniques used for my build.

Uniques easy to get on trade and stats are roughly always the same so its consistant and low risk.
0.5 added some foulborn mods to aim for on my belt but for the most part the benefit is extra implicits or an extra socket.

2nd target: two comparable items competing for same slot, like 2 sets of boots that both work fine. Corrupt 1st, if it turns out good then may as well corrupt the 2nd. If turns out bad I save it till I have 2 comparable items again.

An additional socket is so powerful on some builds.

i still dont need to use them. not yet.
when in doubt ill either sell or corrupt a decent
unique.

Usually it's intrusive thoughts about getting another socket on my gear and then it rolls off the most important stat and I tell myself I'm never doing it again.

But then I get an intrusive thought about getting another socket on my gear...
