Atlas Unique map connections

Do the connected maps in atlas have a higher chance of dropping the unique map they are connected to? The connections did matter atleast for normal maps prior to the mirage league, but I can't find any definitive information about how the connections affect unique maps. Purely cosmetic or they matter?
