Hierophant Shock Nova - Ideas to improve attack and defense

Hi,
I have tried most (affordable) upgrades i can find. Pls tell me what else can i do ... if i have 10 divs to spare for upgrades? https://maxroll.gg/poe/pob/xs7xwk0n I tried sorting out the Power Charge on Critical gem with a level 3 Greater Echo Support, but it seems it nerfed it more than improve. ... and it's quite squishy. I havent played the build, but looking at POE ninja, I would suggest swapping to a wand/shield build if you are feeling squishy.

" You haven't looked at the build either, or you would have seen that it's a pledge of hands build, not just a generic staff. That's not helpful. Couple of things: You need a watchers eye with mana as ES, just like the mods you have on mindspiral and sanctuary of thought. I would also suggest getting a lightning cluster with scintillating idea and stormdrinker. You can even get small clusters with either will shaper or stubborn student. You'll almost certainly get more dps and surviability out of a light of meaning wwith +mana instead of lightning dmg, and foulborn kikazaru are cheap ways to get a ton of mana as well. If you use an Ivory Tower instead of that body armour, you can go low life (reserve discipline for even more ES with arrogance), get pain attunement and a coruscating elixir just to be safe - I have no idea why a Hierophant with less than 3k life needs 2 life flasks. The newish wellwater phylactery could be a nice way to force your ES recharge mid combat, but you need a bigger es pool for that to be meaningful. all of the things mentioned above are very cheap, but comes with a heavy cost in terms of reorganizing your build, especially resistances which you will have to find a way to fix. But it should provide atleast another 3k ES and 50% more damage if you can fix those resistances. If you start feeling tanky enough, you might want to automate that lightning conduit in a Kitava's helm, but you would need to reliably shock at 50% for that to make sense. You might want to take a look at intensify, the +1 mastery, and the new empowered support gem (overloaded intensity). You might not be a crit build, but the sheer number on that gem (it's practically a better crit chance and crit multi wrapped into one gem) kinda makes one want to reconsider, huh? Finally, If you like this kind of build, you might want to take a look at a life+intstacking Jiquani's build. The amount of flat dmg you get from archmage and arcane cloak quite frankly pales in comparison to a 1500 int Jiquani build, but it is an entirely different setup. " Thanks. That's a lot of 'new' equipment to my library ... buy yeah, any help will do. IG my first step is to get a little bit tankier .. else I'll just die too easily. And these suggestions give me hope so i won't abandon hierophant at L98. |

I havent played shock nova, but ive played a ton of Hiero Archmage with Icenova.
As the last guy said, alot of suggestions will require a big juggle of your gear/resist setup. I assume svalinn/Mageblood is outside current budget? Some quick-ish options could be: 1. Headhunter belt. This is a fairly straight forward swap. Headhunter is alot of added defense and a little power (your build doesnt scale damage off converting phys to ele, so less so for you than some builds). Downside: Have to ramp power. Have to deal with ambush mod. 2. Timeless Jewel. Corrupted Soul keystone, gained from the glorious vanity doryani variant, is a good mid-game option for tankiness. Youll need to pick up some life leech to go with your ES leech from tree. You can do that via rare glove implicit or cluster jewel passive, or helm corrupt implicit. This will split your damage taken between life and ES, instead of using up all of your ES first, which allows you to be constantly leeching to refill both pools. Downside: need to pick up leech, but you should have that anyway. Requires finding a good timeless jewel, can be annoying. “Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.”
