We’re seeking an experienced Build Engineer to join our team at our office in Auckland, New Zealand.

Location: On-site in Henderson, Auckland, New Zealand

Full-time position - 40 hours a week

The position includes the following duties:
  • Maintain and improve automated build, packaging, and deployment pipelines for our game Path of Exile.
  • Troubleshoot build failures
  • Optimise the reliability, speed, and visibility of builds and any related tools
  • Manage build infrastructure, including servers, scripts, and supporting services
  • Maintain version control workflows and automation around branching, merging, and release management
  • Work to strict deadlines and schedules, especially around releases and milestone delivery

Technologies used in this role - the more of these (or similar products) you have experience with, the better:
  • Buildbot
  • ZFS
  • Subversion
  • Microsoft and Linux distributions (Windows, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc)
  • Python
  • Bash
  • C++

We are seeking someone with:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Build Engineer role OR a Bachelors Degree in IT or Software Engineering
  • Strong scripting or programming ability in relevant languages such as Python, Bash, or C++
  • Experience with continuous integration and build automation systems
  • Experience with system diagnostics, troubleshooting server faults, and performance analysis
  • Benchmarking, load testing, and performance profiling experience
  • Continuous integration (e.g. Buildbot)
  • Understanding of C++ applications and debugging tools

The interview process will include a basic scripting aptitude test.
