Give literally every skill in the game more damage and dps than Basic Attack

Agreed. When I started playing the game, I didn't even expect basic attacks to be an option. Basics are generally used as filler, aren't they? Now I'm playing a bear druid bonking with maul. |

This is the perfect example of someone looking at a tooltip but not actually knowing what does more damage
All the ifs/ands/ors are excluded on those numbers For example slams don’t list on the tooltip damage calculation if it aftershocks 3x Mash the clean

" No. They specificially made them strong for people who don't care about testing other gems and just want to play as it is (that's official info). Don't know how many players are that lazy, but well, it was done for them. |

" Thank You. To be fair here, there is a lot the game could do in terms of communication to more accurately represent numerical values all across the board. If I want to actually calculate offensive or defensive values I usually end up opening excel because even PoB doesn't quite have it right yet. As a separate comment, I sometimes feel like the people afflicted by poe1-brainitis who have trouble conceptualizing a version of poe outside of a mono-skill framework would be more accepting of the utility of basic attacks if they DID have a mana cost. There's 10yrs of automatic mental-discard for anything resembling "default" attack for them to get past, on top of only ever being allowed to have 1 (sometimes 2) fully-linked skills and one weapon-set (I know it has the option for two... but no it doesn't). It's probably a big "does not compute" moment or even an invisible mental hurdle for a lot of poe1 vets I bet, at least at first. Using the skills in PoE2 like you would in PoE1 - including the basic attacks - is probably responsible for a significant part of the comments about how some skills feel bad. Too used to every skill being transformed into general-purpose hammer and every scenario being a nail. Who am I to say anything, I don't respect my time either.
