An Idea for a gem to summon golems on death.
|
I think golems are not resommoning after death strictly limits their use to the elementalist class and the elementalist class only. There could be a gem that causes golems to have less life, maybe, and simply resummon golems after death with a 4-second delay.

They are resummoning on death if you use the correct ascendancy.
Never invite Vorana, Last To Fall at a beer party.

" Well that's the perk and commodity the elementalist offers you beside the +1 to maximum number of summoned golems and aura effect... Let's make every perk from every ascendancy be a gem or an effect on a support, and remove ascendancies... Never invite Vorana, Last To Fall at a beer party.

other minion builds can take advantage of golems to if they so desire(stone golem will be the most likely to be used)
non minion build can run all sorts of supports of them to make them survive in endgame content if they really want the golems buffs.... its just going to be alot more investment for a non-minion build since you won't have any/much minion life/regen/etc... from passives/gear. |
|
" Thats why I wanted to introduce some downsides for having this game on top of the socket pressure it would bring to the build. Without the jewels there is only one additional golem passive on the tree that adds a +1 golem and thats it, regular builds could only use 2 golems at best that are tied to manual respawn and i think that makes them very unlikely to use outside of elementalist builds. The gem I would like to be introduced would make it plausible so other builds can use golems without worrying about their buffs falling off constantly. Trust your mind and strengthen your abilities!

" The sad part is -as seen in the rue's build as an example- the golem stack makes elementalist the only choice for golems instead of them being a commonly used supports for builds. Trust your mind and strengthen your abilities!

+1
Posted a very similar idea a while back that also included a few other minions (any permanent minion that does not require a corpse or item(s) to animate). |

" Downsides you don't actually care about, yes... Golems' buffs could very easily have been made Heralds, or Auras, or something else. Them being tied to minions is the point - it is what differentiates them. You're not supposed to be able to assume effortless uptime, as that just makes them 'free' in a way that was never intended. I think a better idea for such a support gem would be that when a golem would die in an instance, it instead becomes immortal, ceases attacking, and its buff is reduced in effectiveness by (65...35)%. That way the game is less homogenised than if we just duplicated an ascendancy node as a support gem, the downside actually does something, and the flavour of golem skills is retained - you have displeased the golem, and so it is less enthusiastic about supporting you. They could leverage the system created for Spectres & Animated Guardians that tracks whether they have died in a zone - and instead of having orbs or the lack of a guardian, the game could give you the diminished & pacified golem if that golem has previously died in this instance. Not everything has to have a downside when you want to get an upside effect.
Leave that philosophy for the other game honestly. But I wouldnt see why this idea wouldnt work in the future. "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure." "The strange voice showed Aul a future where his legacy was forgotten, where new cultures broke themselves upon Aul's ruined world." Take me back when poe was the actual focus.
