Help a brother out - A pleb trying to make his first build from scratch

Hi team,

I would describe myself as a beginner/intermediate POE player but have only ever used existing build guides to base my character around...

This league I wanted to try and make my own personal build. Granted, it wont ever be a good build, but I need some help in trying to make it at least decent.

Seeing the new 'holy warrior' skills this league, I wanted to create a holy strike / holy sweep build, using holy strike for single target fights and holy sweep for clearing packs.

I am currently in act 10 and know that I will need a significant power boost to progress into the endgame. Please help me optimise this build a bit (or a lot) better to make my dream a reality ;). Holy strike and sweep are the only non-negotiable skills I want to use!

I tried to use the time machine over on poe.ninja to go back and look at what people were doing for holy sweep inquisitors on day one and uh... it looks like a lot of them were using blight of contagion and contagion to fill out their atlas and get early currency before dropping many divines to buy the gear and transition to holy sweep.

So one thing I would try is to grab a https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Romira%27s_Banquet Romira's banquet ring and slot in holy hammers and play with the support gems and weapon in order to min max the damage, then go buy some inexpensive defense gear and see how the atlas is treating me. That is what I would do with the first 25 chaos. Also 25 chaos is 0.0001 of a mirror, and in that context the next milestone would be 250 chaos, 2500 chaos, 25000 chaos, and then finally mirrors.

If you do want to stay as holy sweep, you've got basic options for starter weapons and that is a 5 link hegemony's era staff at 10 chaos for a 5 link, and a brain rattler two handed mace 5 linked for 10 chaos.

Now, looking at them, both good options, if you're specced into a staves you're going to likely be going with https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Hegemony%27s_Era and then some inexpensive gear to get you into maps. maybe some staff block jewels, maybe a staff cluster jewel, what have you.

Anybody have any suggestions for the 250 chaos mark or any subsequent milestone?

But... You are at a state where frankly, your build has not even started yet. You need to get the ground work done first, cap resis, increase health and preferably also ES, get some block chance in, and dont forget your accuracy for your hit chance which must be 100%. For your skills you need 5 and eventually 6 links, which is a huge dps boost.

Oh, and another word of advice dont take any small passives in the tree that sound nice, aim for the notables. At the end of the day, your points are limited.
