Blackflame Covenant question

So recently I picked Blackflame Covenant node to convert my fire damage to chaos damage. So I want to ask this :

If I pick another node that says "Increase 12% Fire damage", do my skills now also scale with it ? Or do I have to pick nodes that increase chaos damage ?

Also was unsure on this and would love to know. Wondering is its worth using just for living bomb with ED/Contagion.
What I remember from doing a build years ago is that you'll want to use Wither to scale the chaos damage.

To answer your question though, fire damage modifiers still scale.

It's a bit tricky with the wording but basically;

You ignite something, ignite is a fire damage ailment, so any fire modifiers apply to the ignite damage.
The ignite deals chaos damage instead of fire damage. So to increase the damage enemies take you need to lower their chaos resistance (wither).

Just to keep in mind also, it is not a conversion, and it isn't a "fire damage taken as" sort of thing.
Additionally if you have your ignites reflected back onto you, you will take chaos damage. (CI means your reflected ignites won't deal damage to you)

If you use flame surge for the burning ground, that burning ground does fire damage.

The build I mentioned at the beginning was a Divine Ire ignite build and I think there was a ring that allowed you to have two ignites on an enemy. It's been a while though. I think it was the emberwake ring.

Edit: sorry for bumping an old thread, I was scrolling through the elementalist forum and didn't check the dates...
